Our Lady of Lourdes Parish has been awarded a $175,000 grant from the National Fund for Historic Places. It is a matching grant. This means we have the challenge of raising $175,000 for this urgent project that will fund masonry repair and restoration of the church building. Dear parishioners and friends,
I am happy to inform you that we have raised $168,813.00 or 96.46% of our $175,000.00 goal for the Sacred Places matching grant! This amount represents participation from all sectors of our parish community, alumni of our schools, former parishioners, and friends. Whether a very significant amount, or a humble contribution, all who have supported this project should feel very proud. Architect Sara Peters and colleagues visited a couple of weeks ago for an initial assessment of the church building and fact gathering to prioritize restoration work. We have also had meetings with representatives from the National Fund for Sacred Places. They are pleased with our progress in all aspects of the project. We will keep you informed. I am very grateful for your continued interest.
Next Saturday is the annual Diocesan celebration of Faith and Culture. It will take place at St. Bernard Parish, Akron. The theme is the Spirituality of Immigrants. Bishop Evelio Menjivar, recently named Bishop of Wheeling – Charleston, WV will develop this theme from his personal experience. He arrived to the USA as an undocumented youth, worked menial jobs, studied, entered the seminary, was ordained a priest here, later auxiliary bishop of Washington, D.C. It promises to be a great presentation, as well as celebration of cultures through food and folklore.

OLOL International Festival: Saturday, 17 October. We are still in need of different traditional dance groups to make presentations in the festival. Call the office for registration.

SHARE YOUR FAITH! Invite your family members or friends who were not able to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and/or Confirmation to register for the OCIA or Adult Sacramental Preparation. Classes will be held on Sundays beginning in October. Stop by the table by the St. Procop statue to complete a registration form after the Sunday Masses or in the parish office.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,
Tengo la dicha de informarles que ya tenemos $168,813.00 o 96.46% de la meta de $175,000.00 para el ‘grant’ que duplicará nuestros esfuerzos de la renovación de los ladrillos del templo. Me alegra que hayan participado personas de todos sectores de la parroquia, y también amigos y gente que en el pasado pertenecía a la parroquia. La arquitecta Sara Peters ha venido para hacer un análisis del edificio con el motivo de formular un plan de trabajo para la restauración del templo. También, hemos tenido comunicación de la agencia donante y están muy impresionados con el progreso del proyecto. Estaremos informándoles de los avances. ¡Mil gracias por su colaboración!

FELICIDADES POR TU BAUTISMO
Los niños Luke Fuentes, Santino Alexis Acosta y Camilo Manuel Acosta fueron Bautizados el 5 de Septiembre. Muchas bendiciones y oraciones por ellos, sus padres y padrinos. Que el amor y la gracia de Dios estén siempre con ellos y sus familias.
PROXIMOS EVENTOS
OLOL Festival INTERNACIONAL: Sábado, 17 de octubre. Todavía necesitamos diferentes grupos de danza tradicionales para hacer presentaciones en el festival. Llama a la oficina para registrarte.
Primer día de clases de Catecismo: Sábado, 26 de Septiembre comenzaremos las clases de Catecismo de 10:00-11:30AM en la casa parroquial. Si aun no está inscrito por favor contactar a la Hermana Charlotte despues de la Misa o llamando a la oficina parroquial.
DESPENSA DE ALIMENTOS: Necesitamos donaciones de fruta enlatada, proteínas enlatadas como carne y pollo, sopas instantaneas como Ramen, gelatinas, paquetes de chocolate en polvo, sardinas, y Mac and Cheese. Muchas gracias por sus donaciones. ¡Qué el Señor los continue bendiciendo!
NECESITAMOS MAS CATEQUISTAS: ¡Te invitamos a ser parte de nuestro equipo catequético parroquial! Necesitamos catequistas, asistentes de catequesis y voluntarios juveniles para ser miembros de nuestro equipo. Mas información con Sister Charlotte despues de la Misa o en la oficina parroquial.
¡COMPARTAN SU FE! Inviten a sus parientes o amigos(as) quienes no han recibido los Sacramentos del Bautismo, Primera Comunión y/o Confirmación como niños para registrarse para el OICA o Preparación Sacramental de Adultos. Las clases van a ser los domingos comenzando en octubre. Visitan la mesa ubicada por la estatua de San Procopio para completar una hoja de inscripción después de las misas dominicales o en la oficina parroquial.
