Our Lady of Lourdes Parish has been awarded a $175,000 grant from the National Fund for Historic Places. It is a matching grant. This means we have the challenge of raising $175,000 for this urgent project that will fund masonry repair and restoration of the church building. Dear Parishioners and friends,
Thank you to all who have contributed to the Sacred Places Matching Grant Fund. With the donations from the celebration of my 40th anniversary of priestly ordination, we have $160,706.00! So we are just $14,294.00 short of our goal of $175,000.00! May God bless your generosity. The steering committee for this project has a meeting this week with the architect that will supervise the project. Also, a promotional video can be viewed on the parish website and facebook page.
Our country celebrates 250 years of independence next weekend. We thank God for the many blessings that we enjoy that really are fruits of true leaders and visionaries who established our system of governance. We live in the strongest and most prosperous country in the world. That means we have a duty and responsibility not only to help others, but to set a high moral standard, as our founders envisioned. And, as with the history of any institution (person, family, business, etc.) we admit painful blemishes and errors of the past. Failures and mistakes provide us with opportunities to admit, reflect, and learn. Maturity in leadership!

Queridos hermanos y hermanas:
!Mil gracias a todos que han donado para el proyecto de la restauración del templo. Con las donaciones que llegaron de la celebración de mi 40 aniversario de ordenación sacerdotal, tenemos un total de $160,706.00! Entonces solo faltan $14,294.00 para cumplir la meta de $175,000.00! Tenemos una reunión con la arquitecta encargada del proyecto esta semana. También, se ha producido un video promocional que esta en la pagina web y la pagina de Facebook de la parroquia. Dos jóvenes de la comunidad salen en el video. Hay que verlo.
El próximo fin celebramos el 4 de julio y entonces 250 años de independencia de este país. Se espera que se mantenga los valores de respeto y derechos humanos que los que fundaron el país cultivaron. Hay que rezar por el futuro!
